関係副詞の when は、時を表す語を先行詞にとります。制限用法とは関係代名詞の前にコンマがつかないパターンで、修飾する先行詞を明確にする働きをします。先行詞が the time の場合などは先行詞を省略して where のみで「～する時」となることもあります。
