「前置詞 + which」は on、at、from などの前置詞と、先行詞が動物・物・事の場合の関係代名詞・目的格の「which」が続いたものです。例えば先行詞が「the day」の場合、「その日に」を表す「on the day」の「the day」の部分を関係代名詞の which に置き換えたものと考えます。前置詞と which を続けた文は堅い印象なるので、前置詞を関係詞節の末尾に置く場合もあります。
